Working Principle of Induction Lamp

The traditional electric light source, no matter whether it is incandescent or high and low pressure gas discharge lamp, consists of a glass bulb and a filament. The electric power enters the bulb through the filament, and then is converted to light energy. In contrast, in plasma electrodeless fluorescent lamp, the electromagnetic field is generated through an electromagnetic generator, and then the electromagnetic energy is coupled to the light bulb through the coil in, so that avalanche ionization takes place in the gas inside the bulb to produce plasma, which then spontaneous emits ultraviolet light when its excited atoms returns to the ground state. The phosphors on the interior wall of the lamp emit visible light when excited by ultraviolet light.
